A new shade for summer

Shades are one of the strongest fashion statements today. An accessory that matters. If Saif Ali Khan has declared his love for purples, Abhishek Bachchan went all the way, sporting neon shades in one of his songs.

The huge demand for sunglasses was proved at the unveiling of Ray Ban’s 2005 collection that includes ranges such as formal, casual, sporty, funky, feminine etc. Fabio Lupi, Ray Ban India’s national sales manager said: “Back in the 70s, people wearing specs were considered inferior.

But now, with big fashion brands like Chanel and Gucci associating with eyewear, it has brought a lot of confidence in the people wearing them. Eyewear adds that extra attitude to ones look.” He added: “People are discerning today. While buying glasses, they keep in mind specific clothes and bags!”
